What We Learnt from Jeff Leong’s IP Influence Blueprint Intensive
My colleague and I from BlackRevo recently joined Jeff Leong’s IP Influence Blueprint Intensive, a class on building a founder’s personal brand (IP) and turning it into real business.
It’s easy to think personal branding just means posting more. This class showed us it’s a system, and that most businesses skip the parts that actually bring in customers. As a marketing team, we came away with a lot to bring back to our own brand and to our clients’ brands.
There was a lot to take in, so here are the three lessons that stuck with us most.
1. Be remembered for one thing, not everything
A boss isn’t remembered for introducing lots of things. You’re remembered for one clear point that people can retell.
The class calls this the Market Memory Triangle. When the market can retell you in one sentence, your IP starts to spread. That sentence answers three questions:
- Who you are: what you represent and stand for
- What you solve: whose problem you fix, and what change you bring
- Why you: your unique experience, method or results
To make it stick, Jeff teaches a Memory Hook: one line, one scene, one result. Not ten services, and not your whole life story.
He also shared a line that stayed with us: “Not every voice is advice. Some are just noise looking for your attention.” You need to be seen by the market, not agreed with by everyone. Once you put yourself out there, negative comments will come, and filtering them is part of the job.
2. Good content isn’t the post with the most likes
Good content is not the post with the most likes, views or comments. Lots of comments can just mean controversy. Good content is the post that sits closest to your business goal.
So instead of likes, Jeff taught us to track five business signals:
- PM: people sending you a private message
- Inquiry: people asking about your product or service
- Share: people passing your content on
- Appointment: people booking a call or visit
- Sales: people actually buying
Sales are worth the most. Likes are worth the least.
An example tracker from class made it obvious. A trend-chasing reel got 15,800 views but only 2 DMs. A full tutorial video got just 2,100 views but 22 DMs, and that one was the winner.
So the question after every post isn’t “how many views did it get?” It’s “how many people reached out?”
3. Followers aren’t your asset. Your database is.
Jeff put it simply: RM100 you have to walk a kilometre for is not worth the same as RM100 lying at your feet. A personal brand puts money at your feet. A personal brand plus a system puts it there every day.
That system starts with knowing what you actually own. Followers belong to the platform: the algorithm decides who sees you, and your reach can drop to zero. A database of people you can reach again and again belongs to you, and it grows more valuable the more you use it.

Circle of Revenue Engine by Jeff Leong
This is the heart of what Jeff calls the Revenue Engine:
Content → Audience → Database → Retargeting → Sale → Amplify → Revenue
It isn’t a one-off funnel. It’s a flywheel: profits go back into content, and every turn makes the system stronger.
We also liked how he reframed retargeting. It isn’t bothering strangers. It’s showing up again for people who already watched your content but haven’t acted yet, so when they’re ready to buy, you’re the one they remember.
What we thought of the class, and of Jeff
Honestly, Jeff is one of the best mentors we’ve learnt from. A few things stood out:
- He spots the problem instantly. Tell him what’s happening with your content or business, and he can pinpoint the real issue almost immediately.
- He’s truly experienced in IP. You can tell he has done this many times, not just read about it.
- His logic is sharp. Every idea connects to the next, so you understand the whole system, not just a list of tips.
- He’s friendly and easy to talk to. The class felt open, and asking questions felt natural.
- He genuinely wants us to succeed. You can feel that he cares about every student getting real results.
Want to build your own IP?
If you’re a founder or business owner who wants to build a personal brand that actually brings in business, we recommend learning from Jeff, without hesitation.
